As we prepare to begin the Windows to Wonder Stitch-Along this Lent, it’s time to gather supplies! Whether you’re stitching from your own stash or purchasing a full kit from our Etsy shop, this guide will help you get everything you need to bring this stained-glass window design to life.
What You’ll Need for the Stitch-Along
Fabric: 14-count white Aida, at least 11” x 11” (or larger for framing/mounting flexibility)
Floss: Full DMC thread palette (see picture listed below)
Needles: Size 24 embroidery needles (at least two, in case one goes missing!)
Hoop: 9-inch embroidery hoop (optional, but helpful for keeping tension even)
Extras: Small scissors, a needle minder, and floss bobbins (if you like to keep your threads organized)
How It Works
This mystery stitch-along will unfold over six weeks, with a new portion of the pattern revealed each Monday during Lent. As you stitch, you’ll slowly see the stained-glass window come to life—just as Nicodemus gradually saw Jesus more clearly in the Gospel of John.
