Anise Drop Cookie Recipe: Recipe for Week 2 of Our 2024 Christmas Cookie Cook Along

Ingredients for Anise Drop Cookie Recipe

6 eggs

4 cups powdered sugar

3 1/2 cups cake flour OR 3 cups all purpose flour

1 drop anise oil or more if desired (be careful not to get too much)

1 teaspoon baking powder OR 1/4 teaspoon carb ammonia

OPTIONAL - Anise seeds


Instructions

  1. Beat eggs until thick and very light in color.

  2. Add sugar and continue beating for 40 minutes by hand or 20 minutes with electric mixer

  3. Add baking powder to flour and mix into egg and sugar mixture, adding anise

  4. Butter baking sheet. You can sprinkle with anise seed if desired

  5. Drop by teaspoon onto sheet.

  6. Let it stand in cool place overnight.

  7. Bake 10 minutes on airbake or 9 on regular settings at 350 degrees until creamy beige.
